Is it true that for all the stories set in Egypt the Bible never mentions a single word about pyramids?

Is it true that for all the stories set in Egypt the Bible never mentions a single word about pyramids or the sphinx? Don't you find that a little odd?Is it true that for all the stories set in Egypt the Bible never mentions a single word about pyramids?
I don't find it odd at all, since almost all the stories were focusing on the lives of the Jewish slaves. In fact, the stories give very little as to a geographical description of Egypt, despite where necessary. Indeed, I only think the stories mention locations directly connected with the story (i.e. the Nile is mentioned when Moses is put in a basket of reeds on the Nile, and during the first plague). Is it true that for all the stories set in Egypt the Bible never mentions a single word about pyramids?
I don't know why it would. If there were no Hebrews hanging out by the pyramids (and we have no reason to believe that there were), and God was not interacting in a direct manner with any Hebrews in that location, why would it appear in the bible?

Why add random descriptions of architecture or locations that are not relevant to the account?

Jim, http://www.bible-reviews.com
Most of the pyramids had been built before 2500 BC. Abraham existed after that time as his contact with God began soon after the beginning of the Age of Aries. By the time the Jews were slaves in Egypt all of the old monuments were at least 1,000 years old. There was no need to mention them.
Yes, that's correct.

No, I don't find it odd at all -- since the vast majority of biblical stories are completely made up, it's actually completely consistent for the bible to not have facts correct. :)

Peace.
The bible also does not mention cats. It does mention the Tower of Babel, which was inspired by the many ziggurat structures found throughout the Middle East. That's as close as it gets to mentioning the Great Pyramids.

Giz
Well it would be odd...

IF IT WERE A TRAVEL GUIDE

but since it is NOT.... no I don't find that odd at all.

(BTW it doesn't mention the Lighthouse of Alexandria, or the Library of Alexandria either).
Why would it ? The Bible doesn't mention much about the burial places of any Gentiles.
Considering the pyramids were there well before Jeebus? Definitely.
Hmmmm, another conundrum....
DIDNT THE JEWS BUILD THEM? OR WAS IT THE ALIENS?
