Is it true the woman who gave birth to the octuplets is single?

WTF is this woman thinking? She already has 6 children, lives with her parents, and from what I gather is not married nor has a partner- does anyone else think there is something just not right about the whole situation? Don't get me wrong, I don't care how many kids someone has or how they have them, I just feel like there will be more to this story-Is it true the woman who gave birth to the octuplets is single?
There are mixed reports on this. An ABC article this morning reported that the neighbors said she was single, but a USAToday article reported that the spouse was over seas, so I guess we really dont know.Is it true the woman who gave birth to the octuplets is single?
Well, I read her husband is serving in the army and is due out on another tour of iraq.





What is she thinking? well, I doubt a multiple pregnancy of 8 was planned, perhaps she was advised multiples was likely, but if someone said that to me on fertility treatment - Id probably think , well that prob means 2 or 3. Its not like everyone on fertility treatment gets as many as 8. Im not sure what treatment she had, but if it was ivf, most likely the planted the embryo's with the assumption that not all of them would implant and progress into a viable pregnancy.





Either way, its no-ones personal buisiness in regards to her relationships, who she lives with or how many kids she has. People just take far too much to do with other people lives, people they have never met before. Ok, so its in the newspapers making it public knowledge, but Im a little more selective about what I take to do with and what concerns me enough to find out more about.
The story is a bit odd. I originally heard that her and her *husband welcomed the babies. Now there are reports that she is single. Obviously if what you have heard about her is true than she is 100% irresponsible and should have thought twice before bringing all of these children into the world that she obviously cannot care for. If it is not true and she has a partner, and takes good care of her kids than I feel bad that she has gotten this bad publicity.

there are legitimate questions to be asked about whether it is ethical for the medical profession to be implanting that many embryos. but just because she had that many embryos implanted doesn't mean she wanted or expected octuplets. usually when you implant multiple embryos you end up with fewer children. it was simple luck that she ended up with 8, and whether she considers it good or bad luck is her business. just because she ended up with a certain number of children does not make that woman's personal life anyone else's business. and i don't quite see what ';more to the story'; you mean. apparently she wanted more than six kids. now she has more than she expected. while i could see people's being interested in the health of the babies, and some people will want to provide help, what the mother was thinking is really none of our concern any more than any other mother's thinking about what kind of family she wants.

she has a husband who works as a contractor in Irag, yes she has 6 other children two of which are twins.





she probably had IVF treatment which is why she had multiple births. She probably couldn't have any more and decided to pay for IVF treatment,one of the affects is increased multiple births.


The doctors DID advise her to abort some but she said no. The hospital don't say if the births were due to IVF but most think it is.





There probably is more to the story however who are we to judge and who are we to air her life out on TV?





And if she did have IVF and paid for it then who are to say she


shouldn't.


If as you say you don't care how many kids people do and do not have but there is more to the story that you would like to know...


Then why should you *Need* to know more of the story lol it's HER life. She has asked to be given privacy at a rather public and stressful birth.. why shouldn't the media and us give her that!??





And if in the future if there is more to come out then it comes out, but I personally won't be watching out for it :0)





I wish her all the best and luck for the future and hope that all her babies continue to do well and stay healthy. It must be also hard not having the husband around. I hope in the future that she has some time with him as well!

No, her husband is a contractor in Iraq, and yes her parents are helping take care of her other children while she recovers - that's why grandparents (maternal) are helpful in the successful raising of children. She had fertility treatments, did not expect to get pregnant with 8 - refused selective reduction as she doesn't believe in termination, so she birthed 8.
She had invitro with donor sperm. Not sure what this family is thinking, but there is more to this story than we know. This whole anonymity thing proves it. The parents are happy about this. The kids are all very very young. I think the oldest is 7, she has a 6 yr old a 5 year old a 3 year old and 2 year old twins. Something is not right here. I think Social Services should watch this family like a hawk.
It all seems very suspicious to me for some reason. Like, are the children all by different fathers or did she have them all with fertilisation treatment? It's all very confusing.

Yes it is true. She also already had 6 kids. So now she has 14. I think she is a little crazy. I mean she lives with her parents and Im not sure how they will fit all those children in the house. Dumb docs for giving her in-vitro fertilization. Well they said she didnt think she would have that many(8). CRAZY!!

There are so many rumors going around about this woman. Leave her alone! She just had 8 babies and has other children at home. Does she really need all this other unnecessary drama following her?

I do not know if the woman is single or not .However, if she is single, then it is possible that she did invitro fertilization or took fertilization drugs. If she is single and living with parents I feel sorry for them and babies. It will be tough on whole family.
you got enought answers so I wanted to say that breastfeeding is beautiful and I love your avatar... its sooo cute! :) All 3 of mine are gradeschoolers now but i am pg with #4, I can't wait for the breastfeeding again.. it was such a bonding moment!
whatever the truth is, her family isn't being straight. Some reporters even said one time they claimed the father is in Iraq, then they backed off of that story.
Who are you to judge. There is no law that says she has to be married and there is no law that says she can't have kids.





This isn't your life so stay out of it if you are offended.
If they are originally from out of the country that might explain why the mother's dad said that the US media was going to have a tough time hunting them all down once the babies are released from the hospital.

In vitro is not cheap. So if she can afford that, I assume she won't be on public assistance.
