I am 20 years old, i live in ohio and i have 6 month old baby girl. I was told that i can go to collage and get it paid for 100% ive even been told they will pay me to go to school. Paying for the school, gas and me like i was working. Is it true, if so please tell me how i can do this. I want a good life for my child, i would be going into nursing just in case that matters. Is it true that a single mother can have her collage 100% paid for, if so how?
Yep, I am! You have to apply for your FAFSA and go into the school to see what scholarships are available...( In FL the state funded grants are dispersed direstly to the colleges and given out by them) Some of the scholarships I had gotten are childcare scholarship and a student support scholarship(thru the school/state) Most of your money should come from federal level (FAFSA). In all, I got BACK almost $2000 after tuition, books, lab and general fees, and will get another $1700 at the end of the semester (the amount reimbersed for tuition)Is it true that a single mother can have her collage 100% paid for, if so how?
apply for financial aid at the college of ur choice %26amp; the rest is basically done by the school, u will have to turn in income then go to the local employment agency and apply for help there too, also the division of family services will help you too with transportation costs.........u can find financial aid application on line usually on the home page of the school or google it %26amp; find out more for ur state. i done it got my RN totally paid for books, gas, car repairs everything! i even got unemployment while i was in school! i was a single mom of 3! GOOD LUCK!!!
It is true, despite what others have said. I suggest talking to social services about it or talking to the college you'd like to go to - they usually will go out of their way to help you so they can make the $$$.
not the whole thing but partial! The other half you might have to take the bill on that or get some Loans and other grants!
Don't go into a female dominated field - you'll work more and get paid less. Do something that is less typical for a woman. That would set a better example for your daughter anyway.
Not that I've ever heard. I think you need to get student loans like everybody else.
go to the school and ask the same question, my now wife got a degree in the criminal justice system and is a cop. what she received was a pell grant that helped, she was also in public housing and received food stamps. she wasn't a bum that just wanted to live off the system (true some do) she had a nine month old boy was married to her first husband and he just left her (turns out he went back to a former girlfriend) and she had nowhere else to turn. she could have lived off the system but she decided to better herself and she did. it took a lot of work but she succeeded, that is what the system was intended for. we have been married now for ten years now and the boy i call my son is married and his wife is expecting in november. i wish you all the luck in succeeding, if you want it bad enough, you will (and why stop at nursing, you could be a doctor).
i dont want my taxes paying for your education just cause you got knocked up
um... you spelled college wrong!!!lol... sorry had to point it out
Partially what you said is true. I too live in Ohio and an in college for free but they don't pay you to go to school. What you need to do is fill out a FAFSA and the government will send you a SAR (Student Aid Report) telling you what your EFC (Expected Family Contribution) is simply put how much you and your household will have to supply for college and 9 times out of 10 depending on how much money you make it will be 0. So they will pay for school but it is up to you to work and make money to take care of your baby. Because I'm in Ohio too, if you need help getting started just email me at ebrown12211977@yahoo.com
I believe it was welfare, but it might have been some other gov. org., but they paid my cousin's bills for living and for school so that she could become a respitory therapist. At the time she was divorced with two kids under 3. This was in MO though.
