are you better off financially in your relationship than you would be as a single person ? Why or why not ?Research shows that married couples do better financially than singles, do you think that's true for you ?
Yes, and no. It helps having two incomes. Neither of us could have afforded a home on our own. I think it depends on your own money management skills though. Usually in a relationship, one person is more in charge of the finances, so in that case the person who is not as good at financial stuff does better married than if they were single!Research shows that married couples do better financially than singles, do you think that's true for you ?
Before I had my daughter, I'd have been better off single. Financially speaking, of course. With my daughter, I'm better off with my partner. He'd be much better financially without us! But much lonelier :)
For a person who can handle their money well I don't think it makes a difference. I was fine as a single and I'm fine in a relationship(I live with my boyfriend, we split the bills, and both contribute to the household). Although I'm not married, don't own a house, or have kids yet..so this could be a factor. I think marriage helps if one the people can't handle money as well as the other, so the other person can handle finances(although this doesn't always work). There might also be some cases of married people who on their own don't handle money well, but when they have a relationship and family that depends on them they become financially stable.
yes, much..
together we can have our own home and a car .
can not be afforded on one income
