you want true equal length headers dual exhaust but you either want to have an H-pipe or X-pipe installed both have there advantages then you just have to decide how many baffles you want in your mufflersWhat is better for a V8, true duals or a single pipe that splits to duals at the muffler or a single exhuast?
I am going to TRUE DUALS this Summer with my 88 Silverado 305 V8! Flowmaster Super 44's (2)
True duals but you'll have to be careful and do it properly for emissions regulations.
True Duals 3'; diameter
Changing from single exhaust to duals will change the back pressure. Than can change the way sensors and the computer handle things. If that happens it could make it difficult to pass emmissions tests. Check with a shop that specializes in both duals and emmissions testing. They should be able to give you the straight dope on what is likely to happen on your specific vehicle.
Flowmasters, true duals, 2 1/2 or 3 inch in diameter. Also if its a crate style motor Hooker Super competition headers will increase performance so you don't only sound good you are good.
Keep in mind that a vehicle is like the human body. The better it breathes the better it performs. True dual exhaust of two and a half to 3 inch diameter with dual mufflers are going to allow for peak horsepower production, plus have that deep rumble that American muscle is famous for.
The kind of mufflers you use is going to make a difference too, both in performance, and sound. I recommend something from flowmaster. I actually have dual 2 3/4'; input Flowmaster Delta series on my '07 Impala SS. Kind of pricey, but believe me there worth it.
3 inch duals sound great
